Strong communication between home and school helps us support every child. If you have a concern, question, or would like clarification about something that has happened at school, please contact your child’s teacher directly. Teachers are usually best placed to provide accurate information and context, with many concerns often resolved through a simple conversation.
Parent Messenger groups can be a wonderful part of our school community. They help families stay connected, share reminders, support one another, organise social events and build positive relationships. We appreciate the important role these groups can play in helping parents feel supported and connected.
However, we have recently become aware of situations where some discussions within these groups have not aligned with our Parent and Carer Code of Conduct. This has included the sharing of unverified information and, at times, comments about the school, staff or students that can be harmful and misleading. When information is shared without first being checked, misunderstandings can quickly spread and unnecessary concern can be created.
Before accepting or sharing information, we encourage parents to seek clarification directly from the school. Open, respectful and fact-based communication helps ensure concerns are addressed accurately and appropriately.
As a community, we all have a responsibility to communicate respectfully, both in person and online. We ask parents to model the values we want our children to learn by speaking kindly, addressing concerns through the appropriate channels and treating all members of our school community with dignity and respect.
By working together, choosing respectful communication and seeking facts before sharing information, we can continue to foster the positive, supportive and welcoming community that makes our school such a special place for every child.
