On Thursday, 11th June (Week 8) 2026, the Year 6 students from St Anthony’s School will be participating in the Indigenous Carnival.  Students can select a sport they would like to participate in from netball, soccer or football.  The carnival will be held at Dayton District Open Space (Dayton DOS) and will run from 10:00am until 2:00pm.

Students will leave school by bus at 9:00am and will return to school at approximately 2:45pm.  Students are required to wear their sports uniform (leavers shirt) to school and bring their school bags with a jumper, a towel (if wet weather is forecast), snacks and drink bottle.  Students who have soccer or football boots, mouthguards or other sporting equipment are welcome to bring them along to the venue.

As part of the event and to acknowledge Reconciliation Week 2026, a community BBQ will be held for all students, staff, and helpers attending the carnival. Students will be provided with a sausage sizzle lunch, however, if they would prefer something different, please pack an alternative lunch for the day.

We are also seeking assistance from our supportive parent community.  If you are available to attend the carnival and assist with duties such as umpiring, coaching or helping with the BBQ, please notify me via email (elliott.loh@cewa.edu.au).  Parents will be contacted if their assistance is required.

If you have any questions or feel that the proposed event/ excursion may raise issues relevant to your child’s safe and full participation, please contact me to discuss these further.

Please also note that it is important that any changes to your contact details or your child’s medical information must be updated prior to this excursion.
