As you would have become aware, reading homework has commenced. Your child should be bringing home their homework scrapbook, which has the reading log inside the front cover. This is to be filled in each day with the book title, pages read and a parent signature. Your child is expected to read for 10-15 minutes every day to an adult. They may not finish their book in this time and that is fine, they can continue it the following day. Please encourage your child to read other books silently as silent reading and reading aloud use very different skills. Included behind the reading log is some sample questions you may like to ask to help improve your child’s comprehension. To get back into the routine of reading daily, we will introduce homework grids again later this term.

We also wanted to let you know that in Year 3 we complete a Seesaw activity as part of our morning routine. These are designed to be a quick revision of concepts that have been previously covered or currently being covered in class and should take no longer than 15 minutes. You will notice that they may not always look marked, but if they have been approved then they have been sighted by the teacher.

We have noticed that some students are not wearing the correct uniform. Please consult the uniform guidelines and previous communication regarding the correct uniform to be worn on their designated days. We are also enforcing that school shirts are to be tucked in when entering any classroom.

Please remember that if you need to contact us for any reason, you can email us directly.

Thank you for the great start to Year 3.
