We are excited to share that our Year 2 students will be heading out on an excursion to Rio Tinto Naturescape Kings Park on Thursday, 7th May.

This experience will support our History unit on People and Places, with meaningful links to Sustainability and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultures.  Students will explore the theme Noongar Boodjar Six Seasons, focusing on Djeran—the cool, transitional time of year.  Through hands-on learning, the children will deepen their understanding of family, country and connection to place.

Parent Participation

Parent helpers are required for each Year 2 class.  If we get more offers to help than required, we will draw names out of a hat and inform you accordingly.

If you are able to assist, please email your class teacher maria.churack@cewa.edu.au or deborah.rodriguez@cewa.edu.au directly.  Please note that if you are volunteering to assist you will be required for the whole time we are at Kings Park.

Parents are warmly welcome to attend; however, please note that families will need to arrange their own transport to and from the venue.

If you have any questions or feel that the proposed excursion may raise issues relevant to your child’s safe and full participation, please contact us to discuss these further.

Please also note that it is important that any changes to your contact details or your child’s medical information must be updated prior to this excursion.

We look forward to a wonderful day of learning and exploration with our students!
