At St Anthony’s, the safety and wellbeing of our students is always our highest priority. We kindly remind all families that students are NOT permitted to play on any of the school playgrounds before or after school, even if a parent or carer is present.
There are two important reasons for this:
- Safety – Before and after school, formal staff supervision is not in place on our playgrounds. This means that, in the event of an injury, the school is unable to provide the level of supervision and immediate support required. To keep all children safe, these spaces must remain closed during these periods.
- OSHC Licensing Agreements – Several of our playground and outdoor areas form part of our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) licensed space. Under our service agreement, these areas are approved for OSHC use only during their operating times. When children not enrolled in OSHC use these spaces, it places the school and the service in breach of regulatory requirements.
We ask that families support us in maintaining a safe and compliant environment by ensuring children remain with you and do not access playground equipment before or after school.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep all members of our community safe.
