This term we will begin our news roster (see below). Children will have one day each week to tell us about a special item or experience (topic sheet which is in their News Book is also outlined below). We will be fostering children’s oral language skills in describing, asking and answering questions using our news format. Please ensure only one item is brought each week. You may also email photographs for students to use directly.
If possible, you could rehearse with your child so they have an idea about what they would like to share.
News will commence in Week 3.

What is you favourite pet? If you don’t have a pet what pet would you like to have? Give three reasons why. Bring in a photo if you can. |

What is your favourite book ? Bring it in to show the class and give a short story retell of it. |

What is your favourite food that your family cooks. Tell us why it is your favourite. |

What is something really interesting about you that we don’t know? |

Tell us about a day you spent with your family that you really enjoyed. |
| Week 8 |
Bring in some photos (or drawings) of your house. Describe your house, bedroom, backyard etc. |
| Week 9 |
Bring in an item from your bedroom. Tell us something about it. Where did you get it? When did you get it? Why do you like it? |
| Week 10 |
Tell us the name of a person you have made friends with at school this year and something you like to do with this friend. |
| Week 11 |
Bring in an item from your garden. Tell us where you found it and what it is. |
