St. Anthony’s School is one of over 40 Catholic Schools in the Perth region utilising the services of a staff member focused directly on student wellbeing. Marc Fernandez provides a school-based service, which includes confidential support, helping with the pastoral care of students, assisting teachers with social-emotional and friendship programs in classes and supporting parents with enhancing their children’s growth and development.
Marc focuses on supporting children experiencing a variety of problems, including study pressure, peer problems at school, the transition to high school, dealing with parents’ separation, sibling rivalry or grieving the loss of a loved one. Marc supports the students and their families during these difficult times and helps to enhance their coping strategies and connect with relevant services.
Marc also facilitates small group work, makes referrals to other professionals and contributes articles to the school newsletter.
