On Wednesday, 9 September, we will be holding our annual St Anthony’s School Open Night.  Classrooms will be open from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, providing an opportunity for parents, siblings, family members and friends to visit and celebrate each child’s learning journey.

The evening is a chance for your child to share their learning with you.  We encourage students to lead their families around the classroom, explain their work and talk about what they have been learning.  Please take the opportunity to ask questions, celebrate their achievements and provide positive encouragement.  Please note that Open Night is not a time to discuss your child’s progress with the teacher or compare work with other students.  If you would like to speak with your child’s teacher, please arrange an appointment at another time.

Our School Choir and Instrumentalists will also perform during the evening, showcasing their talents and adding to the celebration of student learning.  Performances will take place in the School Hall and the specific times are outlined in the poster below.

The Book Fair is back and will be open in the Library throughout the evening.  After visiting classrooms, families are welcome to browse the wonderful range of Scholastic books and resources available.  Both cash and card payments will be accepted.

The book fair will also be open on Friday morning between 8:10am and 8:40am as well as in the afternoon from 2:45pm to 3:30pm.

As well as some face painters, the P&F have once again organised food trucks, giving families the opportunity to enjoy dinner together during the evening.  A space to sit, relax and enjoy some dinner will be available in the undercover area adjacent to the school oval.

We encourage all families to take part in the Pilgrims of Hope Walk on the night.  This special journey takes you through the history and spirit of our school, starting in the Kindy area and finishing near the Year 5 and 6 classrooms.  More information and a journey map can be found here in a separate post.

We are also excited to welcome Stargazers WA, who will be hosting a stargazing experience on the school oval.  Families will have the chance to look through telescopes and explore planets, stars and distant galaxies.

Children are asked not to play on any of the playgrounds during this event, as there will be no teacher supervision.  Parents/ caregivers are asked to support this expectation.

We look forward to welcoming our families for a wonderful evening of learning, celebration and community.
