Now that the new school year is well underway and our students have settled into their classroom routines, we would like to share an update regarding morning drop-off procedures.
From Week 4, families who walk their children into school will be asked to drop Year 1 to Year 6 students at the entry to the wet areas, rather than accompanying them into these spaces. This change will support students to develop independence and confidence, while also allowing teachers to commence small group learning activities from 8:30am in the wet areas.
This adjustment will apply only to Year 1–6 students.
Pre-Kindy, Kindy and Pre-Primary families will continue to be able to enter the classroom to support their children with the morning transition. However, we would like to advise families that from Term 2, Pre-Primary students will also move to a drop-off at the classroom door.
We appreciate that these transitions can take some adjustment and thank families for their understanding, cooperation and ongoing support as we work together to foster independence and create calm, focused starts to the school day for all students.
